Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism
Three thousand years ago, Shakyamuni of India preached his highest teaching, the Lotus Sutra. This was the purpose of his advent. He predicted the appearance of the True Buddha in the Latter Day of the Law, the age that would begin 2000 years after his passing. On February 16, 1222, Nichiren Daishonin made his advent in Japan, and proved with his life the predictions made in the Lotus Sutra. He is revered as the True Buddha of this time period, the Latter Day of the Law.On Oct, 12 1279, he inscribed Dai-Gohonzon, the true object of worship, which will lead all humanity to enlightenment.

The Dai-Gohonzon is enshrined at Nichiren Shoshu Head Temple Taisekiji at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Japan. Nichiren Shoshu Head Temple Taisekiji founded in 1290, is visited by believers from throughout the world, who make a pilgrimage to pray to the Dai-Gohonzon. Many practitioners are learning and practicing True Buddhism here at Myohoji temple in West Hollywood.

Buddhism teaches that suffering is the effect of negative causes made by people in their past and present lifetimes. Due to the effects of these negative causes, and actions based on incorrect views, the people suffer, society suffers, and disasters and calamities befall the nations of the world. The Buddhist scriptures calls this the three calamities and seven disasters. They are occurring throughout the world every day.

The True Buddha, Nichiren Daishonin, teaches that we can purify our lives individually, purify society, and purify the land, thus establishing peaceful and happy nations throughout the world. Practicing the teachings of Nichiren Shoshu true Buddhism will lead people to establish happiness and peace in all nations, through each individual purifying one’s life and bringing forth one’s inherent Buddha nature. Through upholding the teachings of true Buddhism, people can achieve their own individual happiness and create a happy land. This is the purpose of Nichiren Shoshu True Buddhism.
